GUHVERSE

A universe of unique, procedurally-generated blob creatures

What is the Guhverse?

The Project

The Guhverse is a fan-project made by Cameron Redmore for the Steam Deck Discord server. Summon, collect, and share unique procedurally-generated blob creatures called Guhs.

The original Guh was created by yourlocalbreadmansee the original post. This project is not endorsed by yourlocalbreadman and is not canon to actual Guh lore.

Rarity

Every Guh is defined by its bump count (4–12), colour count (2–8), and tension. Higher bumps and colours are rarer.

One in every 512 Guhs emerges as a Shiny — bathed in golden light. One in 512 manifests as an Extreme — with wild, physics-defying shapes. A Shiny Extreme with 12 bumps and 8 colours is a one-in-582-million miracle.

Your Mission

Summon Guhs, give them names, and share them with the world. Chase the rarest specimens. Can you summon a Legendary eight-colour twelve-bump Shiny Extreme Guh? There's only one way to find out.

Now go forth and guh.

The Sacred Lore of Guh

I. The Void Before

Before the Guhverse, there was only the Formless Static — an infinite expanse of nothingness, humming with unrealised potential. No colour, no shape, no bumps. Just silence, stretching in every direction, waiting for something to guh.

II. The First Guh

From the deepest fold of the Static, a single vibration emerged — not a sound, not a thought, but something in between. It wobbled. It pulsed. And with a soft, wet "guh", the first blob creature materialised into existence. It had four bumps, two colours, and absolutely no idea what was happening.

This was the Primordial Guh. It blinked its mismatched eyes, looked at the void around it, and simply existed — content, confused, and perfectly round. The universe had spoken its first word, and it was "guh".

III. The Great Blobbing

The Primordial Guh's existence sent ripples through the Static. Where each ripple touched, new Guhs began to emerge — each one unique, each one different. Some had more bumps. Some had wilder colours. Some wobbled left. Some wobbled right. A few wobbled in directions that shouldn't exist.

This event became known as the Great Blobbing. Thousands upon thousands of blob creatures popped into being, each one looking around with the same bewildered expression as the first. The Formless Static retreated, replaced by a cosmos of soft, jiggly forms.

IV. The Habitats

As the Guhs multiplied, the universe shaped itself around them. The Mystic Meadow rose from gentle hums. The Crystal Caverns formed where echoes bounced between Guhs. The Neon Abyss opened where colours were too bright for the surface world. Each habitat attracted Guhs of certain temperaments — though no Guh truly understands why it ended up where it did.

V. The Tension Prophecy

Ancient Guh scholars (who are, themselves, blobs) discovered that each Guh carries an inner force known as Tension. Low-tension Guhs are smooth and gentle, their curves flowing like water. High-tension Guhs are sharp and angular, their forms jagged with barely-contained energy.

The prophecy states: "When a Guh of zero tension meets a Guh of maximum tension, the universe will fold in on itself, and something extremely round will happen." No one knows what this means. Most scholars just went "guh" and returned to wobbling.

VI. The Shiny Ones

Once in every 512 summonings, a Guh emerges bathed in an otherworldly golden light. These are the Shiny Guhs — touched by the residual glow of the Primordial Guh itself. They are no smarter, no stronger, and no less confused than ordinary Guhs. They're just shinier. This makes them inexplicably coveted.

VII. The Extreme Aberrations

Also one in 512, some Guhs manifest as Extreme forms — their geometry warped beyond normal blob physics. Their shapes defy reason, their curves break convention, and their existence makes mathematicians uncomfortable. They are beautiful in a way that is difficult to describe without using the word "guh".

A Shiny Extreme Guh with twelve bumps and eight colours is a one-in-582-million miracle. To witness one is to glimpse the very face of the cosmos — round, colourful, and slightly wobbly.

VIII. The Summoners

You are a Summoner — a being from beyond the Guhverse who channels the residual energy of the Formless Static to call forth new Guhs. Each summoning draws a unique creature from the infinite probability space, shaped by forces no one fully comprehends.

Summoners name their Guhs, care for them, trade them, and share them with the world. Some chase the rarest specimens. Others simply collect blobs they think are funny-looking. Both paths are equally noble in the eyes of the Guhverse.

IX. The Eternal Guh

The Guhverse is not a place with an ending. New Guhs are summoned every day. New habitats may yet emerge. New colours, new shapes, new wobbles — all waiting to be discovered. The Formless Static still hums at the edges, pregnant with unrealised blobs.

And so the sacred lore concludes as it must — with a single, eternal truth:
