Breeding

Breeding

Breeding allows you to combine two Guhs to create a brand new offspring, inheriting traits from both parents!

How Breeding Works

To breed, you must create a Breed Room and invite another player, just like trading. Both players select a Guh to offer. Once confirmed, both players receive a completely unique offspring Guh, and the parent Guhs return to their owners.

Breeding is tiring work, so parent Guhs will have a 10-minute cooldown period before they can be bred again. You cannot breed a Guh with its direct parent or sibling.

Genetic Mixing

The offspring Guh is a genetic mix of its parents.

  • Shape and Bumps: The offspring has a high chance of inheriting the bump count from one parent, or it may average them out.
  • Colours: The colours are blended between the parents’ palettes.
  • Tension: The smoothness of the Guh is interpolated between the two parents.
  • Mutations: There is always a small chance for a mutation to occur, resulting in unexpected shifts in colour or shape!

If both parents possess a rare trait (like Shiny or Extreme), the chances of the offspring inheriting that trait are significantly boosted! The inheritance boost is added to the base chance:

P(Offspring Trait)=1512+Inheritance Boost P(\text{Offspring Trait}) = \frac{1}{512} + \text{Inheritance Boost}

The Inheritance Boost depends on how many parents possess the trait:

  • Neither parent: 0%0\% boost
  • One parent: 7.5%7.5\% boost
  • Both parents: 15%15\% boost

Bonus Points

Guhs can possess hidden Bonus Points (00 to 1010). When two Guhs breed, the offspring has a chance to inherit an even higher number of Bonus Points than its parents.

The base points for the offspring are the rounded-up average of the parents’ points. There is then a chance for an Increment (+1+1 or +2+2 points) to occur:

P(Increment)=0.3+(Avg Rarity7×0.4)+(Avg Bonus10×0.1) P(\text{Increment}) = 0.3 + \left(\frac{\text{Avg Rarity}}{7} \times 0.4\right) + \left(\frac{\text{Avg Bonus}}{10} \times 0.1\right)

Where Avg Rarity is the average rarity tier index (00 for Common to 77 for Transcendent). High-rarity parents with high existing bonus points are much more likely to produce offspring with even higher potential!

Bonus points have two massive benefits:

  1. They passively increase your maximum Guhp cap by 1010 per point.
  2. They exponentially increase the chance of breeding a Guhvian Guh!

The chance of an offspring being Guhvian scales wildly based on the highest Bonus Points between the two parents:

P(Guhvian)=18192×512Points10 P(\text{Guhvian}) = \frac{1}{8192} \times 512^{\frac{\text{Points}}{10}}

At 00 points, the chance is the base 11 in 81928192. At the maximum of 1010 points, the chance becomes an incredible 11 in 1616!
